Dawn's Travels to Redken Symposium '17

Ever wonder how we stay up to date on what's trending in the world of beauty? Recently, stylist Dawn had the opportunity to experience 3 amazing days of Redken Education with the finest, most sought-after educators in the world. Beauty professionals flocked to Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas for the 2017 Redken Symposium.

This event is one of the largest and most successful industry events of its kind inviting leading educators, stylists and colorists to collaborate and live Redken's motto:  “learn better, earn better and live better”! Held January 15-17  the bi-annual Symposium, welcomed Dawn and more than 10,000 beauty professionals from 34 different countries ranging from novices to A-list celebrity colorists.

Dawn had the opportunity to connect with world renowned Redken Artists and educators to learn about Redken’s latest product innovations, cutting-edge techniques, and state of the art educational resources and technologies. "I'm always excited to see Sam Villa, Chris Baran and Ruth Roche.  Ive been lucky enough to be in classes with all 3." Dawn attended classes from 8:30am - 6:00pm all three days. One class she took was  a cutting class where the latest tips and tricks for cutting were discussed; "The Redken educators give thorough information and solutions to all of our most in depth cutting questions."

In addition to the classes she attended, Dawn visited the Redken Gallery to see the new products launching this year such as: City Beats, and Glow Dry (more to come on these great products!). Dawn  watched at a substage where new color brushes and techniques were being launched.  One of Dawns favorite things about the symposium? "Being able to listen to top stylists that create hair trends for fashion weeks, magazine editorials and for the celebrity scene is incredible."

What trends can we expect in 2017? Dawn says, " Balayage was my last class. This art of painting hair is here to stay.  The tutorials shown were wonderful because all of the scenarios touched on were questions I* have had in the salon.  Of course I took tons of notes and pictures." 

At the end of the day, Dawn gained a lot at Redken Sympoisum 2017, "I'm always excited to  come back to Fringe after Ive traveled to Redken Symposium.  I believe that when you educate yourself, you inspire others.  Additionally, my clients LOVE that I put effort into learning.  It excites them to come to the salon and it excites me to do new things behind the chair. Trends change from season to season... its my job to keep my clients up to date."

Dawn is a seasoned stylist and this isn't her first time to Sympoisum. the first time I attended symposium was in 2015.  I* traveled to it alone and it changed my career, my outlook on life and the confidence I had in myself.  It made such an impact on me that I knew I would attend in 2017. The event is held every two years and Dawn says she's, "already looking forward to 2019."
